Coleen
Pantalone came to Northeastern in 1981 as an assistant professor of
finance. In 1987 she was promoted to associate professor. Her areas of specialization were
management and performance in the financial sector. She then served as associate dean for
undergraduate programs in the College of Business Administration from 1993 to 1996.
In 1996
Pantalone became vice provost for undergraduate education. In July 1999, Pantalone was named
executive vice provost, after holding the position on an interim basis for
18 months. In her position, she was responsible for faculty development,
budget planning and long-term planning.
Pantalone
relinquished many of her duties in the provost's office while she served as
director of the semester calendar conversion process. In that post, she was
responsible for keeping the semester conversion on schedule for its
successful implementation in fall 2003.
She earned
her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Minnesota and a doctorate in economics from Iowa State University.
