
Andy Rohm, Denise and Robert DiCenso Term Professor
Andrew (Andy) Rohm is assistant professor of marketing
at Northeastern University in Boston. Through the
support of the Institute for Global Innovation Management, Andy Rohm
and Fareena Sultan are investigating the development and execution of
global e-business strategy in order to uncover opportunities and
challenges facing firms in their efforts to transform existing business
strategies to incorporate the Internet. Their research has also focused
on burgeoning marketing opportunities with hand-held mobile devices and
how this new medium compares to older marketing vehicles.
Professor Rohm received his BS in Aerospace Engineering
from the University of Michigan. After working in
engineering and business-to-business marketing
positions, he joined Reebok International where he became
a director of marketing overseeing several core business units.
Prior to joining Northeastern in 2001, Professor Rohm completed
his Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
He has authored and co-authored numerous articles that
have appeared in the Sloan Management Review, Journal
of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Consumer
Affairs, Journal of Business Research, Marketing
Management, Journal of Business and Industrial
Management, Business Horizons, Journal
of Managerial Issues, Managerial and Decision
Economics, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing,
and Sports Marketing Quarterly. He has also co-written
or directed the writing of several case studies, including Brand
in the Hand: Mobile Marketing at Adidas.
Professor Rohm has presented his ongoing research at
several national and international conferences and
actively applies his ongoing scholarly research in the
classroom. In 2003 he was awarded Northeastern University’s
Excellence in Teaching Award, and in 2005 he was named the Best
Teacher within the College of Business Administration by Beta Gamma
Sigma. In addition, he was recently awarded the DiCenso Professorship
through the College of Business Administration.
