Background
F. GERARD ADAMS is Professor of Economics and Finance EMERITUS at the University of Pennsylvania and McDonald Professor at Northeastern University. After experience as a business economist in the petroleum industry and in government, Adams developed an academic career of teaching and research. He has worked extensively on econometric models of nations, commodity markets, energy, industries and the linkages between these models. His recent research has focused on the economics of economic development in East Asia, international linkages and conflict reduction. He is co-author and editor of Industrial Policies for Growth and Competitiveness, Export Instability and Economic Growth, Stabilizing World Commodity Markets, The Business Forecasting Revolution, Economic Activity, Trade, and Industry in the US-Japan-World Economy, and, most recently, East Asian Development: Will the East Asian Growth Miracle Survive? and Public Policies in East Asian Development: Facing New Challenges as well as other books and numerous articles. He has testified extensively before Congressional committees, the International Trade Commission and as an expert witness in legal proceedings.He has been a consultant to the United Nations, the OECD and the OECD Development Centre and most recently to the Harvard Institute of International Development (HIID) in connection with its Ukraine project.

2. Litigation support: expert witness in numerous court proceedings dealing in issues of anti-trust, patents and other barriers to entry, valuation,etc. Industries involved include ash disposal, construction, telecommunications, finance, cement, silver, rendering, reinsurance, paper bags, etc.

3. Testimony before Joint Economic Committee, Senate Budget Committee, Senate Banking Committee, Senate Finance Committee, House Ways and Means Committee, Senate Agriculture Committee, House Committee on Labor and Human Resources .

4.Testimony before International Trade Commission in anti-dumping proceedings on cement and steel.

5. Consultant to UNCTAD, United Nations' US Treasury, U.S. Department of Commerce, OECD, Federal Reserve, PBW Stock Exchange, Joint Economic Committee, Institute of Developing Economies, World Bank, HIID, and major business enterprises.
